Introduction

I struggled with learning English because I didn’t grow up in an English-speaking country, and few people around me spoke English well.
After learning basic grammar and vocabulary, I immersed myself in English by watching movies and listening to podcasts.

However, while consuming English content, I encountered so many new expressions and unfamiliar words that I found myself stopping to look things up almost constantly.
As a result, watching Oppenheimer, a three-hour film, ended up taking me nearly seven hours.

Concept

“Learning real expressions from the country’s contents”
From my long journey to learn English, the best way to learn languages is learning real expressions from the country's contents such as, dramas movies, and anime. You can learn the language, history, and culture, as immersing yourself into the contents.

Approach

Watch a movie with subtitles while checking only advanced vocabulary on your smartphone in real time.

Personas

Basically, this service targets people who are motivated to learn languages, even if they already have advanced proficiency in the language. It works by supporting users’ understanding of subtitles.

Features

1. Advanced vocabulary
The primary goal is immersion in the movie itself, so the vocabulary focuses on advanced words at CEFR B2 level or above, functioning strictly as a support tool.

2. Scrollable vocabulary list

Users can follow the subtitles while scrolling through the vocabulary list.

3. Context-aware translation
To enable instant comprehension at a glance, translations are adapted to the context of each scene rather than being literal.

Easy to pick up movies and find where it can be watched inspired by Netflix UI. Easily finding what platforms you can watch should be valued, because each person subscribes different platforms.

This service does not offer content streaming itself. Instead, it focuses exclusively on providing language support for entertainment content distributed across various platforms.
Users can search for content based on the streaming services and subscriptions they already have.

At a work page, high level vocabulary is featured in chronological order. You can check esoteric words, only scrolling.

When a word is tapped, a detail information is shown. When you wonder how to use this word, you can check how to use it in a other way.
