It involved designing a typeface using a grid system. To leverage the inherent strength of the grid, I intentionally constructed the letterforms primarily with straight lines.

The second assignment

I focused on disrupting the grid. I designed a typeface by intentionally breaking its structure, creating a grid that appears fragmented and deconstructed.

We were asked to trace an image and reconstruct the alphabet from the traced paths. Because I’d already realized the tracing paths is not the essence of this assignment, I chose a mandala due to its ease of tracing. I thought it was far more important to reconstruct alpha bet taking advantage of the shape of the traced path, so I spent most of time reconstructing alphabet.

As a result, This work received high recognition and was later selected as a reference piece for the university's open campus exhibition.
